Archiving, Privacy and Accessability Policy

AVICENNA JOURNAL OF CLINICAL AND TRANSLATIONAL MEDICINE

AJCTM aims to preserve the scholarly record, respect the privacy of people interacting with its publishing platform, and improve access for readers and contributors with diverse needs. These are three distinct responsibilities and are described separately below.

Digital preservation and continuity

The journal seeks to maintain backed-up article files, metadata, issue records, and supplementary material and to preserve article identity when website addresses change. Any participation in independent preservation networks will be published under Indexing and Archiving only after activation and verification. The journal should test the recoverability of its backups and develop a continuity plan for service interruption or closure.

Personal information collected

The publishing system may process names, affiliations, email addresses, ORCID identifiers, submission files, reviewer reports, editorial correspondence, and other data necessary to run scholarly publishing. Technical logs and cookies may also be used for site operation, security, and session management. Information should be collected only for a defined journal purpose.

Use, access and retention

Authorized editorial and publishing personnel may use information for submission processing, peer review, integrity investigations, attribution, communication, and scholarly recordkeeping. AJCTM does not sell contributor information to advertisers. Personal data should not be disclosed outside legitimate operational, legal, and ethical purposes; confidential peer-review information must receive special protection.

Rights and enquiries

Individuals may contact the Editorial Office to request correction of inaccurate personal details or enquire about access, retention, or deletion, subject to obligations to preserve the scientific record, investigate misconduct, and comply with law. Data deletion may be limited where a lawful archival or integrity duty remains.

Website accessibility

AJCTM aims to use readable text, meaningful page headings, descriptive links, appropriate color contrast, accessible figures and document structure, and keyboard-operable navigation. Readers experiencing an accessibility barrier are encouraged to provide the affected page or file and a description of the issue through the official Contact page.

Security and incident response

Access privileges should be restricted to authorized users and kept under review. Suspected unauthorized access or personal-data incidents should be investigated and addressed in accordance with applicable obligations. This policy does not claim formal accessibility certification or third-party security accreditation.
